Voilà un petit moment que je n’avais pas écrit d’article sur un film. Sans doute le manque de temps… Je profite donc d’un peu de vacances pour prendre quelques minutes pour vous parler de « Love, Simon » que je suis allé voir 2 fois après en avoir lu du bien sur les réseaux sociaux.
De quoi ça parle ? On mérite tous une première histoire d’amour. Pourtant, pour le jeune Simon, c’est compliqué. Il a une vie normale, dans une famille qu’il adore, et est entouré d’amis extraordinaires, mais il garde pour lui un grand secret : personne ne sait qu’il est gay et il ne connaît pas l’identité de son premier coup de coeur, avec qui il communique en ligne. Alors que son secret est menacé d’être révélé, la vie de Simon bascule dans une aventure aussi drôle que bouleversante… Ses amis prendront alors une place essentielle pour l’aider à changer sa vie et découvrir le premier amour.
Mon avis sur le film : Sur le papier, un « feel-good movie adolescent » qui nous fait penser à du déjà vu et revu. Mais c’est sans compter sur le fait que le personnage principal est gay et que le film bénéficie d’une grosse production. Le tout est parfaitement traité et je trouve plutôt intéressant le fait que le personnage clé du film ne soit pas un top-modèle (sans être forcément laid, bien au contraire). J’ai donc adoré ce film où l’on en ressort bouleversé quelque soit son âge !
Les personnages sont tous intéressants, le film passe très vite avec la belle correspondance par mail entre Blue et Simon à laquelle est liée la curiosité de Simon et du spectateur afin de savoir qui se cache derrière Blue. Je ne sais pas s’il faut être directement concerné, mais le film met bien en évidence les sentiments traversés par tout jeune qui se découvre homo : la première correspondance avec quelqu’un comme soit, son impatience d’avoir des réponses et nouvelles, l’envie et la peur entremêlée de le vivre au grand jour, la peur d’être jugé et d’être vu autrement alors qu’on reste tel que l’on est, …
Scène marquante du film : Je vais commencer par un clin d’œil avec « Creek Wood », le nom du lycée qui n’est pas sans rappeler la série « Dawson’s Creek » où le réalisateur du film (Greg Berlanti) était scénariste.
Ensuite, la scène des coming-out hétéros est vraiment culottée et drôle. Mais plus globalement, tous les échanges par mail (qui m’ont ramenés quelques années en arrière) et plus spécialement le dernier message de Simon sur « Creek Secrets ».
Du côté de la BO : La bande originale est vraiment chouette et accompagne parfaitement le film.
Un film à voir absolument où l’on en ressort bouleversé ! Un film à conseiller aux jeunes qui se découvrent. Un film qu’on devrait diffuser dans les lycées !
